Amazons been a great place to start a career but I was curious where to go from here. I can definitely continue to grow within the company but where are some other companies in Seattle where life is actually greener on the other side? I enjoy the fast pace of Amazon and don’t want to be slowed down by a bureaucratic system. I also enjoy my pay (SDE1 TC $160k) so I don’t want to go to a startup and make Monopoly money. Note: I won’t move before making SDE2, but curious what’s out there after that.
If you like the fast pace of Amazon, maybe look at Uber. One of the few companies that can match them.
Maybe you should, I dunno, think about what you actually want to do? Otherwise expect FAANG.

Fix a sign off date, update LinkedIn, prepare for interviews, tell LinkedIn you’re actively looking. The next few days you’ll have a bunch of recruiters hitting on you. Research the companies, apply for the ones you like. Don’t wait to make SDE2 if they are withholding the good projects from you.
Go to an inpatient psychiatric ward for a month or two. Then get your discharge and think about it then with a clearer head.
Airbnb has a beautiful Seattle office. The base salary here on its own can beat your Amazon tc. Then add the fat stock grant on top of that and you would be doing pretty well. Definitely consider us

Microsoft :)
No way. You will hate Microsoft if you come from Amazon.
