I'm joining Uber Freight at SF soon. I know 80% of you think this is a bad idea, but my question is about housing. The office is in fidi. Which neighborhoods are safe and affordable if I plan on biking to work? old msft tc: 200k new uber tc: 273k
Safe, affordable, SF. Pick one. ๐
Freight is good for now. You should try to find a place near the office, so you can walk to work. This is easy to do if you have roommates; otherwise just pony up the dough for 6-12 months. Eventually you will know the city well enough to make an informed decision about where to live. For now, prioritize a very short commute.
I'm really into biking, so I really want to bike to work every day๐ . Do you know which neighborhoods have a nice bike route to fidi?
I don't think it's wise to plan to bike to work on a daily basis in SF before you've lived there for a while.
Freight is moving to a new office soon. Keep that in mind.
Do you know to where? Or are you talking about the Chicago office?
The entire SF Freight org is moving to a new office next to ATT stadium in South Bay. Source: they told me when I interviewed there. Too bad I had to decline their offer :/
Russian Hill
You can use trulia's crime map and the bike map in google maps. Seems like north or south of financial district along the bay would be best. The embarcadero has a bike path. https://www.trulia.com/research/trulia-local/
Dude relax. Freight is fiiiiine. No need to interview prep every two weeks. Freight has had zero layoffs, plenty of profit, and growing fast.
Oakland hills.
Is that for L4 or 5a
