Everyone is always talking about perks and TC, but where is the best place to grow as an engineer? Which place gives the most responsibility and promotes the quickest? The title says FANG but Airbnb, Uber, etc are also welcome to reply.
Blind
Lol
If Blind surpasses Fb, it’ll become BAANG
From FANG, Facebook and Amazon will focus growing you internally and your manager will have goals to get you promoted. Google is the one that won't. Google will look great on your resume but they are awful about promoting people. Don't know about Netflix.
Promotion != necessarily career growth. If you're growing where your market value matters in the industry and you can get a job other places that's career growth. You can get tons of promotion in an organization and be completely unhireable else where. I'll urge to think of your career outside the company.
@VSwf01 good point.
All past their prime now. They've been hiring so many, that it's statistically impossible to have just the best. Look for a good fit for your interests and expected income. Brand value doesn't last.
I think it helps opening doors to those other positions you speak of though
Why go through another door when you could go straight to your destination? Sometimes, you could hit a roadblock and get stuck on the alternate route. That's very frustrating. Don't make plans with dependencies that you cannot control. If I hire, I don't care if you actually worked at FANG if I see that you could have. Don't make FANG a middleman!
Not amazon
Growth comes when you push yourself or the company pushes you. If you can do the former, you will grow at any of FANG. If you can’t then goto netflix

Why are women naked in gym?
They're all great, what's important is the team and a supporting manager.
Good point. I think I knew that already which is why I've stayed at Amazon on my team in particular
