I like staying in the sub-urb area and prefer short commute. Don’t like staying in downtown that much. Which one would you recommend between Google Seattle and Kirkland. Kirkland is probably much better but the problem is there aren’t many software companies on the east side. So I will probably have to commute to Seattle if I switch.
You prefer the suburbs and one of those options is in the suburbs, so...
Kirkland by far, unless you're a hipster city bra.
Kirkland if you can swing it; taxes in the suburbs are likely to be lower than Seattle for the long term.
Most companies in the area are building offices in Bellevue, so no need to go to downtown
Seattle is a dump, I wouldn't recommend buying a house there either way.
Why worry about a switch that you are not even planning yet? Are you just trying to prevent another move in the future? If you want short commute & suburbs, well, Seattle ain't it.
I plan to buy a house and settle down. Buying a house in Kirkland will make it harder to commute to Seattle in the future.
Ton of people do that. Also east side has many companies including amazon which is moving bunch of teams to Bellevue
