Got Below two offers. Both are Cloud based roles. Both are for Denver location AWS Role : Sr. Technical Account Manager Base: 153K Year1 Signon : 74K Year2 Signon: 57K RSU: 91shares vested over 4 years (5/15/40/40) Google Role: Cloud Customer Engineer Base: 140K Year1 Signon: 20K Bonus Target: 42.86% GSU: 95K vested over 4 years(25 percent every year i guess) Factors to consider: Am expert in AWS cloud services. But new to Google Cloud. I cant Understand the Target Bonus in Google. Will it be always paid full or depends on sales Quota met? I know AWS doesn't give any refreshers for next 4 years. How are refreshers are google ? Am not worried about work culture of AWS. Ok to stretch myself. Will amazon stock grow as fast as it been past few years?

Why is cloud pay so low compared to SWE?
Baller setup for Denver. Congrats!!!
You say aws low balled? That was the best I saw in blind for the role
😂 😂
I’m amazed by your Sign On tbh. AWS wins here though Google is a great company, stay away from GCP sales.
Could you elaborate why?
Which part? I have best friends at GCP in sales and was told to stay away from sales if I ever went over. Basically they have no real sense of direction or plan and it’s chaos vs Azure or AWS. The company though, they freaking love working at. As for the AWS Sign On portion, knowing what I’ve been offered and what others have gotten, just a solid big offer for Denver.
I believe that Google GSUs for that size grant are paid out quarterly. I don’t know how the sales bonus works, but for non-sales roles, the bonus is dependent on job performance. The bonus target for those roles assumes that you “meet expectations.”
AWS Wins!!!! It depends on whether quota is met. It’s a Commission variable. From what I’ve seen on Blind it’s barely ever reached. I think the rough avg I saw was above 60%. But if you consider the AWS role title it’s way higher than Google. It’s not a bad idea to branch out towards GCP since you’re an expert already. But if you do go towards AWS you can always go to Google later and get a better offer with your current title and level at AWS.
Also, I would say AWS is a better stock bet especially if there is a stock split soon.... you never know though.
Sr. TAM is a very operations focused role that has a lot of busy work and you are expected to be oncall. See if G will match the AWS offer.
Aws
Google sales is a dumpster 🔥. Upside is our solution seems to be to throw money at the problem. So of you can keep your head afloat there is likely more opportunities for growth here
I am amazed they pay TAMs so much compared to creative roles like SWE and PM.
Because as Aws TAM you are not just supporting one product. You are expected to have breadth of knowledge on 100 products in AWS portfolio
Yeah I know what AWS tam does. Worked at AWS.
