Intel forces diversity quota system for hiring, awarding, and promoting employees. Manager compensation is held accountable againt this quota number. This quota system has driven many excellent employees out of Intel. Now I am considering leaving too. Dont want to end up in the same bullshit situation. So which Tech company doesn't force diversity quota system? PS: I am all for diversity given my skin color. But I disagree with Intel implementation.
Intel is hilarious. I remember they had a policy that if a woman applies for any internal position they cannot reject her without an interview. wtf :D
google doesn't have a forced quota. however special recruiting efforts are spent on recruiting them. for example there are diversity recruiters and during the interview process they are given multiple chances. since hiring is non deterministic this does equate to a slightly better chance of being hired but it's the same hiring bar. there's been on and off talks of having a quota for female to male management, but it's always been vetoed.
I think the "multiple look" thing only comes into play if the interviews are weird in some way, like a MIT alum gets low interview scores. then they double check it
Amazon is the same way. Not just special Recruiting orgs doing it but I've seen multiple female managers with open headcount specifically asking people to refer women only. Kind of ridiculous.

Isn't an official quota system for promotions and hiring an illegal practice?
exactly, tell that to Intel CEO.. who is trying so hard to look good from the outside at the expense of his own employees
Quota is such a bunch of crap. I want to play on the Oakland Raiders football team, damnit! There are not enough unathletic people like me on there! Let me in now, damnit! Quota!
