With more and more companies rolling out EVs, it seems like the TSLA party may not last long.#auto
Volkswagen Auto Group
You forgot Aptiv. Amateur.
Is this even a question...
It's obviously Tesla. The rest of the auto manufacturers need to catch up in both electric and autonomy.
This is pretty funny. Motional is already working with Hyundai. Motional's autonomous system is 10 times better than tesla. Auto manufacturers won't need to work on autonomy, they'll just need to put sensors on the car, there are companies with amazing stacks ready to go. FYI Cruise also has a better autonomous system than tesla.
Except GM is ahead in autonomy and pivoting rapidly towards electric. Took them fifty years, but they're here and well ahead of the curve in manufacturing/supply chain/expertise infrastructure
Maybe VW group (and Hyundai), other than Tesla
Where are De Germans ?
Tesla without doubt. 2nd will be either Hyundai or Volkswagen
For following 10 years, I think it is unlikely to get the EVs dominating the world. Tesla will sell well for several years, but I think Gasoline or Hybrid vehicles will be sold well. Thus Toyota or VW might be top for a while. However, after 10 years? No one knows. They are not guaranteed to be successful after 10 years. Now is the last chance for traditional automotive companies.
Best guess is the market remains fragmented, and Tesla’s first mover advantage gives them significant market share (maybe even double digits), but not market dominance.
I find this to be the most sensible answer among everything I've read so far
I agree. Plus this scenario is best for consumers too. Also I am 100% sure after 5 yrs or so, Tesla’s contribution will be iterative as the market matures, they may focus their efforts in other greener pastures and not compete for market dominance.
None of those are actual EV companies except for Tesla.
Every company has come up with their own version of electric cars... They have partnered or funded, EVs which they may acquire.
What's your point? Those traditional ICE manufacturers have a lot more expierince with assembly lines than new EV companies and an existing brand name to sell into the market.
