where has lowest interview difficulty to get a 200k TC for swe
San Diego
Lol I thought when people were answering the previous poll it was to the questions “where is the most difficult bar”, and now it’s the easiest: both times it’s Bay Area :) Maybe people just want to choose Bay Area no matter what 🤔
Syria
Yea people voting SF really don’t know how mad easy Seattle is thanks to Microsoft culture having spread everywhere. Majority of engineers are either ex-Microsoft or ex-Amazon and when you do loops you’ll notice the difference.
Seems like people love SF Bay area.. winner of many polls.
Because sf Bay Area market rate is high. So 200k in Bay Area is probably a lower tier position than other areas with same pay.
What makes you think that many people would even know the answer to this question? Usually people only interview in their target area.
The bay area has the highest tc and respect for software engineers so 200k tc I assume is easier. I'm in NYC and only finance matters here, outside of 3 big tech firms here, 200k tc is not easy unless you have significant yoe.
Bloomberg and Goldman not essy?
I can't speak to Bloomberg but goldman you need at least 5(4 with masters) years to make VP and even at that level you may not get 200k. Unless you are in faang nyc or big hedge funds, which there isn't many, you are probably working around 7yoe to get 200k. Most people fresh out of college in bay area is already close to 200k and a couple of years easily get 200k tc.
Well 200k jobs are most common in Bay Area.
Again?
