I would assume it would be Waymo but they don't give gsu. Blind says Apple doesn't pay well. Tesla doesn't seem to pay very well either. Uber and Lyft maybe? I'd assume things aren't great at Uber because of the casualty. Thoughts? TC 180
Everyone has moved on from the casualty, it's all good. You should just apply to all of them and see what you get.
Yeah, seems like I just have to do that.
Daimler is where it's at
For real? Can you give a TC number. Daimler stock is not traded in US exchanges right? Does that mean no rsu?
Autopilot pays really well. Above industry standards if you're really good.
By industry standard, do you mean autonomous driving industry? My main issue with this industry is that standard pay is pretty low. Can you give a number for someone with a PhD in robotics and 3 years exp.? Also, how bad is life at Autopilot? Are you expected to stay late or work on weekends a lot?
I think by industry he or she means autopilot industry. That is one of the highest paying areas today so I am not sure why you feel industry standard is low. I would imagine with that background you would make 300k +/-10%? I could be off.
Cruise pays well. I have some friends in engineering there and they’re very happy.
NIO. But you have to know your shit and check your pompous attitude.
Can you give me a TC? How's work-life-balance?
Bollocks!
Stop worrying about TC. Apply to the industry leaders Waymo, Cruise, Tesla etc. The position/location and your aptitude will judge the TC. If it’s low, the position, location, or your skill set are variables in the equation and shouldn’t be hard to figure out which ones are relevant.
Definitely Cruise

GM Cruise. However I am not sure if they have any effect of GM layoffs announced today. I had an offer with them and it was pretty good.
Ugh, I wish they were in South Bay.. I guess I'll apply anyway.
Cruise isn’t very tightly tied to GM, the layoffs certainly don’t come across. I get the impression the money saved from layoffs are being poured in to Cruise as their Hail Mary to stay alive. My TC here is ~570 including paper RSU’s, ~400 excluding. Cruise pays cash heavy because they know there’s a competitive market for engineers in AV right now. My cash annual bonus is some people’s TC (~140). Numbers are fudged +-5-10k because offers are pretty unique here in my experience.
