I am looking at Europe right now. Have read that there are quite low salaries, but acquiring PR is easy in some countries. Due to H1B troubles, I am looking to leave the US. Also, not looking to go to Canada because of too cold winters in addition to lower salaries. So figured that rather keeping myself indoors for 4-6 months won't do much good for me. Us is the best. Germany can be ok. Same with Netherlands. Different language though, so there's a barrier for your social life.
Why barrier to social life? I can learn a new language.
Yes, anyone can. But it'll be a couple of years before you'll feel comfortable in a conversation.
Switzerland (Google Zurich) has been reported to pay high salaries that are comparable with the USA. I have friends who live in Germany and work in tech and say that the tech scene there is also very vibrant.
Only the cost of living is more, so you end up withess money. Nature is frigging amazing there though.
Yeah, but with a highly advanced European country, you will get some semblance of a welfare/healthcare system that will take care of you if you need it.
Stay in US, switch to a company that sponsors GC. European countries have great Quality of living but that comes at the cost of much higher taxes plus learning a new language @20+ is never easy.
Canada, then back home to USA once visa troubles are settled
Would that help? I have heard TN visa is for 3 years and you have to convert to H1b eventually. And the same shit will start again.
Same shit while holding a Canadian passport is not the same shit anymore
London has tons of offices of american corps. Spend a year working there and boomerang back on L1B?
Come work for a FAANG in France (GAFAM as we call them here), then ask for a transfer to US on L1, if that's where you want to go. Tons of great AI and R&D labs in France, and they pay very well (by EU standard). Startup scene in a few metro areas (eg, Nice, Paris, Lyon) is quite dynamic. Background: American in France for quite a while.
UK/London ? They are English speaking and tons of opportunities I suppose
I make $150k pretaxes on a grad role in London, but cost of living and taxes eat a lot of that.
That's pretty good. Could you share breakup of TC? Also, I believe you're a Technology Analyst at JPMC, is that right?
Palantir
Also look at Dublin, Ireland. Most big companies have offices there.

how can i loose 5 pounds with small changes to lifestyle
None! Stay in the US. You're not going to get paid 200k anywhere in Europe except at a handful of FAANGs and HFTs
I would stay in the US if I could. Lol, I know how good I have it here My only worry is H1b. And I am pretty sure GC is out of the question.
Well, there's an option of marrying a US citizen. You're in NYC so dating should be easy I suppose
