Do not put yourself in the AE rat race at Salesforce. For all our talk about Ohana there is none in sales. A friend with 20 years of specific industry experience joined and was assigned a territory in South Dakota having nothing to do with his experience and with no support or travel budget (pre-covid). Oh the quota was ridiculously high as well. He ended up having to do his own cold calling as the lead generation teams were complete shite, and eventually got put on a PIP and gladly took the severence. Unless you're a hot blond chick with big hooters and long legs, don't bother. If you think I'm joking or sexist, take a walk around the sales floors after covid and take inventory for yourself. This is absolutely the truth. Hypocrisy reigns to the core in this company.
So this position I’m being offered is an outside sales role in Dallas. The market I am covering will be in Dallas as well. I really appreciate the feedback, but I’m wondering if your friend was throw into a completely different (worse) situation? Also, everyone I’ve interviewed with for this team is a male haha.
Also this is a hybrid role, managing an existing account base and pursuing new business (new logos).
