I voted Silicon Valley. Firms on wall street are atleast honest that their sole purpose is to make bucks. Silicon valley firms on the other hand obfuscate the fact that they are after money by pouring generous company mission koolaid to employees and public.
Is this even a contest? If you are asking for real, then you are naive.
Answer is Silicon Valley
I disagree, and it’s not even close.
Both tie. It is like you need to die, pick your poison.
Should have a "both" option
Something world-changing still emerges occasionally from the swamp that is SV. How true is that for WS?
This ^
Hey, let’s be fair, the 2008 crisis was certainly world changing! Credit where it’s due.
Wall Street is a ruthlessly greedy bull. Silicon Valley is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Wolf in a sheeps hoodie
What’s your definition of toxic
If we’re judging by who’s more full of shit, it’s obviously SV, but by any other metric, Finance contains far bigger assholes in a far higher concentration.
Silicon Valley is gonna take over Wall Street soon. Mark my words. Does anyone seriously think that any current wall street player has any chance against tech giants ones they enter this market? something like Amazon Hedge Funds or Alphabet Investments etc? For example, Morgan Stanley's market cap is. 70B, Amazon's and Alphabet's is a trillion each.
Almost no one who works at Amazon or Google can get a job at the best financial firms as a revenue producer (quant/trader) - Rentech, Citadel, Jump, HRT, Jane Street I've worked on both sides - as a quant in finance and as an SWE. The quality of peers is much higher in quantitative finance.
Yeah but when the tech giants enter finance, they'll hire those same genius quants and traders at much higher pay, or they will just acquire those financial firms.
WS makes nothing for people. SV on the other hand is the reason why we can use this app

BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
I'd grudgingly say SV, because Wall Street's toxicity is commonly known and the banks don't act like they're changing the world for the better.
^ this!! Just added a description which is very similar to what you are saying.
Banks / funds are CONSTANTLY talking absurd bullshit about their “responsible” or “socially conscious” investments / products. For more, see anything that has come out of Larry Fink or Ray Dalios mouth lately.
