Job market is too hot and meta stock is tanking. Copped the following offers. Please don't vote Google because of "prestige". I've already worked at a big name firm. Two Sigma TC: ~527k y1, ~350 y2+ What % should two sigma comp increase yearly? I hear there can be decent raises? Tenure is rewarded? AWS (L5 which is L4 at G/FB) Yearly TC: ~430k Core distributed systems experience would be cool. Pip culture? Definitely not. Interviewing is a game of luck. I got rejected from jane street, jump trading, plaid, stripe, brex, optiver, and more. Google initially wanted to down level me. Just gotta keep putting yourself out there

If I have done ~200 LC Meta tagged, but still can’t solve unseen mediums, what would you say I am doing wrong and any suggestions for improvement? I can’t imagine being ready after only ~90. It just seems so difficult to me and every problem seems to have its own quirks.
Why is Google lowballing so hard? Is that the highest you can get that offer? If you could get them to match AWS I'd take G.
Google wouldn't budge any more. That was the final offer after 3 rounds of negotiation. G lowballs these days and banks on people joining for "prestige" imo
What team at AWS? IMHO if on-call schedule is fine WLB at AWS is still somewhat reasonable.

Sign-on bonus was high to try to make up for competing offers. Would prefer not to give exact numbers
Fair enough. But did they say anything about yearly bonus? I expect bonus to be about 50% of fixed pay in a trading firm (easily).
I would recommend TS, WLB is great. I can only speak for what I’ve seen but raises are consistent and significant

On average <40hr for me, it does depend on team. I’ve seen an avg of 20% salary and bonus much more than that
