Hi, so I have 2 offers and I'm not sure which one I should take - Oracle (100k TC) - Dev Ops Engineer - Mostly working with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Linux, Some Python - Small no name company (120k TC) - Software Engineer - Python, Docker, Some Golang The no-name company pays more, but is for a no name company. Meanwhile, Oracle (although an old boomer company) is a reputable firm. I love both the Dev-Ops and SWE field and wouldn't mind either of the title/roles. Can anyone who's a Dev-Ops at Oracle chime in? Current TC - 100k (Technical Python Specialist) #oracle #devops
Oracle negatively impacts your resume.
If you can talk to the manager from both the offers, ask what kinda work they have in store for you.. have they clearly laid out a plan ..what's the work you will be doin in 3 months, 6 months, one year from now? At Oracle are they filling an existing position, if so ask why did they leave. This position will set your tone for rest of your career. Be crisp and clear when you ask these questions and know what impact can you make from the beginning. Choose good opportunity over money and you can always jump ships as you get more experience.
Hey what's the no name company? They might not actually be no name lmao
