I am not a SWE. I would like to start some course in udemy or coursera. I have good SQL skills. Which. Technology/programming language should I learn? which language is most used in companies now a days? I am not targeting only google. Suggest what other language should I learn?
Python definitely
Python. It’s a popular all-purpose language that’s still growing in use and barrier of entry is low. I’d recommend ruby if you just want to learn programming but it’s declining in popularity and its uses are pretty much limited to web development.
Scala.
Python has a lower barrier to entry, and is very widely used. ... As a corollary, there is also a very wide range of programmer quality. That's universally true, but even moreso in Python. So... Be careful where you learn from. Take whatever Coursera course gets you off the ground, and then learn the best practices (books like Effective Python, and plenty of online resources). It's REALLY easy to write shitty python code that still "works" :)
This is really helpful. Thank you
For what purpose?
I recommend first deciding what kind of projects you want to build. Having a project/idea you want to build out will motivate you to stick with it and continue learning. For example - you have an idea for an app, so you pick up swift/obj-c
C++
OP, did you eventually learn programming? Did you become a SWE?
Stick to what you do. Don’t want your shitty code in SWE
Seriously?? I can see how good a manager you are or can become. Sorry for your team
Thats sick man.
