Which team to join at Expedia?

(Posting for one of my friends who is a female student going internship at Expedia this summer.) About her: school projects about front end stuff, SQL, node.js/express. Looking for: return offer for sure. good mentorship, friendly culture as well. I did some research but can’t find sufficient information about team selection. Some comments here about eCP and LX are not positive. Still true? It’s my first time doing internship. I’d like to take the opportunity into the industry and hopefully get a return offer. Please leave your valuable advice! Well, as always, YOE: 0 TC: 6k/Month for 3 months

Honestly apart from lodging, only flights is where the other money comes from. Cars, LX etc. aren't that good

Go for lodging if you truly want to learn about the industry. When you say lodging, make sure its "lodging shopping"

Expedia brand steers the boat for Expedia Group. Lodging and flights are the marquee teams within Expedia brand. That said, there are certainly great teams outside of Expedia brand to work for. Car Rentals, Home Away, Egencia, Hotwire are all.good environments. eCP is a red flag but getting better with the platform initiative but it would still be my last choice.

1. TM doesn't have a good history with his picks in leaders/ and organizational structure 2. Elevation of mediocre people into management roles 3. It took them a long time to figure out how to exist in the new worlds of cloud and platform 4. Migration of engineering talent out of the org 5. Very weak product orgs, no product leadership
