Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Read this article below that summarizes where AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon are at in terms of 5G. I think it did a good job explaining what each company has done so far. So, who do you think will win this race? https://www.fiercewireless.com/5g/5g-deployments-where-it-s-at-at-t-sprint-verizon-and-t-mobile
The standards have not been clearly defined. Even the problem hasn't been clearly defined. The carrier's are only as good as their equipment suppliers. There is no innovation by these telecomm vendors, like Nokia, Ericsson or even Huawei. True 5G will take a long time to materialize.
The actual use cases are "neat" and "interesting", but until the bandwidth and coverage are justified, it's more of the same gamesmanship and marketing one-ups with each milestone. Ultimately....all of the carriers will win once we find a way to sell you what we're offering...
With the still-spotty coverage for 5G-NR (we’re still talking about which PARTS of which cities) its best use for now is fixed wireless and wireline backup solutions. 5GE required no new antenna hardware and was completed via backhaul upgrades. This *is* a scenario where “5G” footprint will follow 4GLTE. In hindsight, MOST people don’t care (aren’t aware) whether they’re in 4G (HSPA+) or 4GLTE. As long as they’re not on 3G. Likewise, as long as they see 5G, and not 4G, they’ll be satisfied for all practical uses.
Exactly, folks will come to believe the new banner updates and begin to wonder why they're not on 5G or somehow that will make their experience poorer/better based on what they see. We no longer sell voice communication devices, it's all about entertainment and information and how fast we can pump that into faces. Honestly curious to see if we'll ever hit a point where input speed is "enough".
The race never ends. There’s no finish line. 5G footprint is still fluid and will =/= 4G footprint.
