Who found a H1B sponsor this year?

Hi guys, I wanted to change careers and come to the US from Germany. Some companies wanted to offer me a job but after telling them that I would require Sponsorship they withdrew their offer/interests stating the current political situation... what's your experience? Did anyone found a company willing to sponsor a new h1b visa (not a transfer) this year? #h1b

Applications for new H1B will be submitted in April and if selected in lottery (30% probability of success), you will be eligible to start working in October. It will be very hard to find an employer who wants to offer you a job and then wait for 5-6 months to find out if you can work for them or not. 99% of the hiring managers won’t wait unless you are a new college grad who’s still in school. Answer to your question: nobody.

Add to that.. if you do get the lottery and the approval you will most likely find another job by October that pays better and file a transfer petition and will screw your employer. So it's even harder to find one that will take the risk.

Whatever fear or hate or xyz that has to be created against H1b has been done since 2017. The market is bad for new H1 sponsorship except for FAANG. There are some good things that happened because of this too but, unfortunately the genuine and good candidates also get effected. So, it’s not a surprise that companies are stepping back when you say you need sponsorship.

Thank you! I'll try to apply at FAANG ☺️

@Medallia Sorry, let me rephrase it. The companies I applied to withdraw their offer/interests after I told them that I would need H1B sponsorship. I did some research, and it seems like it has become hard to find an employer who is willing to sponsor a H1B visa

All companies do file for new H1B but only for employees who are already working for them or will be able to work without needing H1b right away; all those employees are new college grads because they get work permits which allow them to work for 12-36 months without needing an H1b.

Might be better for you to find an international company, work a while, then do a transfer to the US

Which company is ready to wait for years for your h1b to go through lottery? Not even faang will help. Maybe try L1.

Honestly, nothing much has changed in terms of process by the current administration. H1 is still lottery like in the past. It just created more paranoia amount folks who only know surface detail about immigration (like recruiters)
