Who here in Sales actually makes >$500K TC?

I always see people saying “my buddy in sales makes >$1M TC” but those people never actually show up.

What’s your sales TC and what do you sell?

    I do, 250K base-250K var = $500K

Been crushing my comp plan last fiscal, prob end up between 1150-1250K.

RSU are peanuts but i see a path to similar earnings next year.

In commercial insurance many many people make more than $500k but the ramp up sucks really bad. Roughly 35% of the salespeople I work with make that.

  • Most sw sales AEs have an OTE of less than 400k. Most common I've seen for senior is 165/165 or 330 OTE.

But the accelerators can be insane if you blow your number out. That 330 can easily top 500 at a modest 150%.

I'm in services and am starting to miss the product days.

    206 base
    30 RSU
    25% bonus depending on performance

When you say “miss the product days” what do you mean? Because you switched roles or because the industry changed and it’s harder to sell?

    • Switched roles. Selling product easier than resourcing projects. Especially in this covid environment.

In general, services is more comfortable and higher base, but software can be insane with good territory/product. But the stress is much higher.
