There are a lot of ways to define who owns the internet... By entry point/navigation: Google By bandwidth: Netflix/Pornhub By humanity: Facebook By infrastructures: Amazon(aws) By life well-beings: Amazon(merchandise) So... Which company do you think own the Internet as of now, 2019!?
A road is usually not owned by the guys running the trucking companies.
Unless most people use same agency to contact trucking companies then agency can control who gets most transport contracts based on how much benefit it gets , though it's not ownership but maximum influence
Good analogy. It’s better to move a bit up the value chain to the big transportation companies.
If you can actually answer "who owns the internet" with a single answer, then the internet has fundamentally failed to be what its supposed to be
By humanity: Facebook? What?
Lol wtf does it mean?
Girls, girls! 🎼
The Kardashians
Stupid question
The telecoms
Like someone mentioned, it's mostly owned by the 15 or so, tier 1 network providers who provide global transit. If they bail out, then internet is dead.
They same guy who owns twitter.com/realDonaldTrump
Akamai/Cloudflare in terms of CDN
