Is Cisco better than Amazon in terms of the working environment? Has anyone here worked for both companies and can compare? What's the pay difference like?
Cisco is crap for sure. Use the search and see for yourself.
Tough call. Cisco is a shit show but at least not shitty WLB for most ICs.
Depends on the role? If you are a network engineer or security engineer, Cisco is better than Amazon. If you are a generic swe, its a no brainer
I have interviewed at both companies more than once. Cisco has the worst interviewers, both engineers and Managers. So condescending and lack of knowledge. I would never work at that company. I was really impressed with my interviews at Amazon though. but I've heard WLB at Amazon is bad.
Best to pass both
After amz, they need vacation
We suck, you suck, we all suck equal.
Shhhh. Cisco is Silicon Valley’s best kept secret. Like any big/public org, there’s annoying obligations & some folks hanging around & don’t like their work (which is a bummer) but there are lots of tiger units too of ppl all over working on interesting problems. In an era of diminishing trust in tech firms & all the craziness— it’s actually such a blessing to dive into the weeds with *really* passionate people and work on stuff like making wifi or the internet faster & more interoperable.
