I 'dropped' some names of my professional connections to familiarize and I was told I'm being unprofessional.. I think it's becoming another Apple without their cash 😀
No.. he took the effort to send me a message on LinkedIn and then removed me from his connections list. I just spoke about him for 3 secs in a 90 mins meeting
Peculiar, this sounds like... Normal smalltalk... can you give more context?
What was the conversation?
Did you get the interview? 😊
I won't pursue them after this experience..
Maybe he has some shady background that he doesn’t want you know about through common friends.
Shady background including faked his resume / experience / back-stabbing coworkers to move up / etc.
Yeah, there is something going on that is not just about small talk. He could be insecure plus might have something to loose if OP joins.
Hahaha....
You shouldn't be name dropping in an interview. That sounds embarrassing. Neither should the manager interviewing you. Every company should have training about what not to say in an interview. Some are illegal some are just unprofessional.
Lol nice username 😂
Wait, what? Name dropping during an interview? Why? Who does that?
You should only namedrop people you know well and trust will say something nice at an interview. Seems pretty reasonable response to me.
He is connected with me on LinkedIn band I've tried to help him solve an issue in the past so I thought we 'knew' each other professionally
🤷🏼♂️ Did the same; we talked about mutual friends and moved on - - maybe person was having a bad day?
