- Massive scale - FAANG means they have the BEST engineers in the world. Nobody even comes close. - Basically a monopoly, so stable stock growth - Bottoms up engineering culture, strong leadership principles, drive to hire the best - decent tech stack (JVM, linux) - Engineers are encouraged to work on ops as well to make them well rounded

I was about to write a post, βWhy are people joining Amazon?β with itβs PIP culture, shit leadership, hire to fire scheme, no WLB, causing mental health issues and depression. Money isnβt all that is important and there are other companies that will pay just as much.
Well, the only companies that really pay more are Facebook and Google. Facebook is even worse and Google hiring is a gauntlet after which you get paid a lot to do boring shit. Basically once you get to this level there's some kind of trade-off.
Your ignorance is amusing. So many companies pay better than Amzn. For Eg Pinterest , slack, stripe, snap, apple, dropbox, airbnb etc. With yearly refreshers, yearly bonus, ESPP and no-conditions applied 401K matching even PayPal pays better by the end of 3 or 4 years for some levels minus PIP culture
