For example banter.com, good.com All of these domains are redirect to existing websites. Why companies have them and don’t use them?

Lot of ppl use test@example.com for testing. Imagine amount of data those ppl get without even asking for it
Someone had an idea for a marketing campaign... The domain was purchased, and then the campaign was abandoned. Keeping the domain just-in-case is cheap though. Maybe that campaign will seem perfect in the future. Microsoft owns at least one (for years) where I'm amazed they're not using it. It doesn't redirect any more though, so I won't name it.

Either because they think they’ll use them eventually, or more likely, they’re waiting for the right buyer to pay the right price for it.
But they are not listed for sale anywhere. And it doesn’t look like Fortune 500 companies are in the business of flipping domains lol.
