I mean they're part of FAANG and still, people look down on Amazon. TC: 220K
Amazon is fake FAANG tech wise. Its FAANG on wall street as in its worth a shit ton of money, but tech wise, its no FAANG. The bar is way lower, the wlb is way lower, benefits are way lower, pay is way lower (exceptions ofc), etc. and blind is primarily tech
What about the tech tho? You cant deny that we actually have a great product, amazing infra, reliabilty, high standards and expectations for product, and (if you're actually surviving for at least a few years, no one "floats" here) great, respected engineering prowess. Anyone who has been at Amazon for a while and even promoted earns instant respect. Even more if they get promo. Unlike a lot of other companies that claim to be "tech" or even old tech (Tesla, IBM, PayPal, Ebay, cruise, Adobe, and even msft)
Not denying the other stuff you said esp wlb. But I'm making way more than I was previously at one of those other companies I mentioned. At least see the good side of things too
Spoilt engineers thinking a job that doesn’t offer massages and free food and expects you to work hard for 8 hrs a day is a shit job. It’s a well respected company almost everywhere else.
Thats like saying i have an apple in one hand and a full 8 course meal in the other and im spoiled for wanting the 8 course meal. Sorry I want free benefits? Im not ashamed to say it lmao
Think banna would have been the better fruit, but I agree with your points.
Only work not great pay or perks. Only saving point is the stock appreciation.
One word - frugality
🙄🙄🙄 idk what your company is til I looked it up. It's e-commerce based in Washington. I didnt care til you started being xenophobic
I didn't believe so until I joined Amazon.
The bar is honestly super low. Everyone I know who got rejected from F/G still made it into Amazon. Maybe this isn't true for senior, but at E3 level it definitely is
WLB is real bad on a lot of teams, and the warehouse worker situation is Bond-villainesque.
WLB in FB isn't much better
Depends on the team.
