I'm an immigrant from India, stayed for 5 years, planning to go back in an year, my h1b term ends, not planning to extend We came here as a guest and we should leave as the same. I'm not sure why people wait here in total uncertainty throughout out years about their stay and worry about living in USA for ever. Every 3 years, you need to worry whether you will stay couple of more years or not, sadly that is decided by someone else and not in your control. I think 6 years long enough time to explore a country, staying more than that is not justified in my opinion. Quality of life in India imporoved, salaries in India imporoved, work quality is also improved. Their you have freedom start your own company or sponsor a business that can generate 2nd income. Of course there are some issues with staying in India, but that is with any country. Security is an issue their and also here.

Money -you can never make this money in India unless your an entrepreneur. For the 9-5 risk averse average joe the money here is 1000x better
I would say it’s 5x better. Not 1000x. It’s literally 67x on exchange. But spending power is not more than 5x.
Well the expenses are pretty high here too. So I don’t buy this argument.
I guess you don't have kids
I have a kid who goes to public school here. That's my biggest worry, kids education. Education here makes the kid an elouquent writer/speaker but they will be zero in mathematics and science which are more important to me. Also kids in India are street smart, not sure what the reason but kids here go by the books.
Its just money, and we Indians are greedy, there is nothing about lifestyle or such. Plenty of developed countries like canada, Australia offering better life, facilities without backlog. If tommorow hypothetically 1 ruppe = 65 dollars, all these people will run back home.
Agree, OP. Have (mostly) the same opinion (& questions). Had I known then what I do now, I'd never have come. But I concede few'd share my opinion
It's full of reservations BS and heavily political..less recognition of meritocracy..could Sundar or sathya become CEO if they had want back to India ?
Yes reserved stay in India and deserving move out for better opportunities
Load of horseshit. Do you really believe there is no one really talented in India, and that you were able to stick around here because you are more talented than everyone else in India. I think you (and people who talk the way you did) are just scared of the higher competition back home. Go, snuggle and whine in your little corner.
