Why do people assume HW would mean ASIC/Digital Design?

I mean why, since you also have a plethora of HW roles, Analog, RF, Microwave, Power, Embedded Systems, etc.. It's like some people who say work in tech means just Software.

    OP still is narrowly focused on just EE/CE HW engineering topics. Think about all the engineering that goes into the physical product, that you can actually touch.

    How many of you are actually building physical things? Or are you still just sitting in front of a computer all day, like the SW folks?
