Salads are easy, less expensive, “fresh”, mix your favorite fruit+veggies+meats+nuts+dressing with almost no preservatives and low in carbs. Human body synthesizes salads quicker than simple carbs and you are close to your dietary goals. Also, one big reason to prefer salads for lunch is you don’t feel drowsy or bloated and don’t rely on that afternoon coffee.

You need to try good salads, they are pretty calorie dense if you want them to be. Try every greens salad if you are in Seattle

There are none. The reason it’s like this is because according to mainstream fitness carbs are bad and salads are good. That’s pretty much it. You expect most people to do a further research than that? Most people can’t even take their meds on schedule.

Lol. Like salads? Salads have very few calories. Your lunch and breakfast should be heavy and include carbs and decent protein. You’ll end up burning muscle this way.
