I think they just have a lot of engineers. I've met great candidates and terrible candidates from Google.
Lookup Stanford experiment. You will learn a lot about human nature.
Leetcode 🐒 are all idiots
In general I've been impressed by the niceness of my coworkers, so I'm not sure where this is coming from. Although in an organization of 100k people, there are bound to be some assholes.
I wouldn’t narrow it down to one company, you can find such anywhere (roughly 25%)
Google is simply too big to consistently hire good employees. It has tens of thousands of employees, many of whom are in competitive labor markets. Even if it desperately wanted to, it's not possible for Google to lock in 100% top notch talent the way it would be for, say, a 30-person company. This doesn't mean Google hires people who are all terrible, but probably a significant percentage of Googlers are just average folks.
I think it’s the kool aid sold by the recruiter. I spoke with a Google recruiter and she flat out told me that the role I am trying to fill is in “high demand” and it’ll take 6 MONTHS or more to go through the interview process. I basically told her to fuck off. Happened with 2 other recruiter at Google.
You can apply this to most of the tech industry
Because Adobe is already filled with idiots so there’s no more space for us
