Is it this way at all companies? Is it because it's using Lync under the covers? Is our CTO pushing garbage MS office products because he was previously employed by Microsoft? 🤔
How is it worse than a cellphone connection in terms of drops and clarity? It’s over a fucking wire.
Call quality is not that bad at all. You are exaggerating. I know messaging sucks. It does not have history and does not sync well on all devices.
What’s your exact problem?
the fact that no one in the company can answer you throughly probably indicates poor management, at scale.
WebEx 👌
Slack is the new boy in town. Hope MS doesn’t buy it. It’s awesome
My favorite Skype usability issue is when you get kicked out of the meeting due to a dropped web connection, try to dial back in. Instead of rejoining the meeting, Skype instead creates a brand new meeting and invites all the participants to THE NEW MEETING. Imagine, 50 or so people getting their meeting stopped, switched over to a new one, wondering what the h is going on. It's incredible that a Billion+ product, central to communication, allows users to even do this.
It's pretty striking that even the MS employees in this thread have had a bad experience with the product.
Another awesome feature is where if you are connected via the mobile app, if you get an incoming call, your session is placed on hold and you're kicked out of the meeting - without you being able to do anything about it beforehand.
It’s awful! We use Zoom at my company instead. It works fine.
Zoom is way better for meetings. Skype mobile app sucks big time
Try using same time
+1 Agree with you. Use Microsoft teams.
They took that away about a year ago, but we're getting it back soon. Looking forward to it!
Why doesn't everyone just use slack?
