I have read on blind that there is problems of spacing and parking which seems ridiculous. Not have a designated seat assignment is terrible. Culture also seems bad. Why do people join then?
I’ve also heard they’re cheap, as in cheaper than Amazon.
BEYOND. Talk to current employees. They’re cheap AND you have to live in Bentonville?! Yeah, pass.
You don’t have to live in Bentonville. They have 2 Bay Area offices, and probably others. But, yeah, fucking cheap as hell.
Culture is very thrifty, it comes from the top. The mission is to get the best prices to the customer, and WMT can't do that it it's spending money each month on cool amenities for its workers or, you know, enough seats. As a result, teams might be understaffed, and spend a surprising amount of time on figuring out where to sit. And the people who stick around are either chill enough not to let the stress of this process get to them, or clever enough that they've put systems in place to make the culture work for them. Not the worst place to work by any means, but definitely unusual corporate culture. PS: Most locations have free coffee and snacks, and the cafeterias are generally a good value.
The Walton Family alone makes $4M EVERY HOUR of every day. They could absolutely spend their money differently...they choose not to. It’s important to understand when and where greed plays into brand image. It’s everywhere.
Walmart labs is a bunch of Indian losers.
Walmart Labs cannot attract top talent. The engineering discipline is terrible and there is zero accountability. On top of that, you have leaders that protect their low performing friends. Diversity is non-existent, which also affects the culture negatively.
I wouldn't recommend them based on my interviewing experience with them.
Walmart labs = mix of managers from Wipro + bunch of shit holes from CTS who grind CTCI and truck load of bureaucracy, in CE I have seen people join from CTS doing stuff at Apple onsite offshore failing miserably here and get out only by ganging up , I mean identifying themselves as a person from South of India/ Chennai / Bangalore / Hyderabad and so the breakdown goes micro....
One of such idiots from CTS/Apple also posted a question on why care about app performance, instead let’s knock our feature out and let the platform team care of performance, sadly manager seconds him
I see nothing but a bunch of ignorant Walmart haters here. Walmart Labs has nothing to do with Bentonville, the offices are in the Bay Area. Work, especially in ML, is cutting edge. Some units hire interns and FTEs only from CMU/Berkeley/Stanford. Heard from a friend that some CMU new grads apparently rejected Google offer and joined a personalization tech team this year at our Sunnyvale office. Base pay for new grads at X3 can be as high as 180. International travel is always business class. The India branch was mostly ex-Googlers till 2016, extremely high paying and notoriously difficult to get into. Finally see linkedIn, even blind, to check the number of folks from Amazon etc who joined us. Having said all that, the struggle is real when it comes to parking and finding a seat. I wouldn't recommend anyone to join Walmart Labs now just because how callous and clueless the MGMT is when it comes to solving these simple issues.
So you would not recommend joining the company on the basis of these petty issues if one has multiple offers? Why would they hire someone like me at a lower base at X4 level than a fresh grad at X3 level getting 180? X3 grad 180 - are you sure about this part? Seems a bit too high for a fresh grad to receive 180 base.
These issues are not petty. These are every day struggles. Walmart Labs is not worth it if you have a good competing offer. But lot of the other criticism of Walmart Labs from outsiders in this thread is pretty unfounded and stupid. Search blind, you will find some of these 180 fresh grad cases. Also, check actual h1b job offer data posted on some govt sites.
180 for x3 , u really love WM , Max for x4 is 165 and for x5 is 180 in my team , x3 is max at 130 -140 depending on teams
Dude you must be one of those cheap IT support teams. Sorry mate. Check some real data available on the net. Levels.fyi or search in blind or just check h1bdata
Lol walmart needs suckers like u
And none from my P0 CE team in SV from the top 5 universities, just curios which Team are u in @Walmart ?

Walmart is a horrible & antiquated company to work with. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemies.
Can you provide specifics?
