Why facebook is screwed
For a while now people have spoken out about the addictive nature of fb and dangers of exploiting and misusing that data. I feel that notion is going from held by few to mass acceptance, and before you know it more parents will be keeping their kids of social media and people will become more aware of the toxic influence. Just like smoking it will go from widely accepted to frowned up, and just as snowball effects increase growth the opposite is also true, as your friends and family decide to use it less or delete it so will u. Advertisers will want to distance from the platform to protect the image of their brand, and it will be a downward spiral.
Yea the effects are terrible. I hope fb and ig usage goes down just as smoking and fast food passed away as unhealthy fads. Horrible for mental health, especially for younger people.
Like smoking, Facebook would continue to grow in popularity in other countries, if that did happen here.

I agree, especially for teens. I hope the stigma stick so younger generation can stay off it.
The younger generation is already off of Facebook. They don't like it and see it as lame and for old people. The look of derision on my twin 13 yr old neices' faces when asked about Facebook is priceless.
Yeah but kids will find something equally bad or worse. Lord knows Snapchat isn’t exactly a healthy environment...

Facebook Inc. will be ok...They will buy up companies to stay in the game but I doubt facebook.com will be as successful as it is today 20 years from now. The kids just aren't into it and those middle aged people will go where thier grandchildren pictures are.

I don’t know about that. It’s more likely Lyft will be out of commission than FB in two years. Lyft after all doesn’t make any profit and is just an App. The combined effort of Mercedes-Benz and BMW Is coming for you guys and we aren’t playing around!
I have heard that facebook and google conducted a study on effects of screen time on kids less than 5 yrs as such, results stated negative effects. Even after that google launched YouTube kids !! #CutThroatBusinessForYou
