Besides money and referral bonus, why do you give a referral to random people via rooftop slushie, blind, etc...
Paying it forward. Democratization of access. I believe in meritocracy. Good karma.
Hmmm ok 🤔
Meaning?
what is a rooftop slushie
If that helps someone in need to get a job, then why not?
It’s all about the referral bonus, it’s the shot gun effect - eventually someone is going to get in.
Sounds about right for Tesla.
I'd love to work for Tesla. Had zero luck so far lol.
I don’t even do it for bonus. I’ve connected people to other companies as well just to help them out depending on their circumstances. I particularly care about helping people impacted by layoffs.
World needs more ppl like you. Having been laid off before I know how much it can mean to be helped during times like that.
Just to help them out. I don't expect anything in return. I would hope that someone else would do the same for me.
Good for you.
I’ve stopped doing it, it’s so awkward when they come back and wonder why they got rejected early (I don’t know as the referring employee, but it’s still awkward).
Why not? HMs have headcount and need to fill the position. It’s still better than HM trying to source through LinkedIn and trying to connect with candidates who are not interested and just ignore the invite. At least your referral genuinely wants to interview for the job.
A stranger's just a friend you haven't met
Why do we need another reason?
