It appears that TC for senior level SWE new hires have gone up 20-30% in the past year. (If you're entry level, never mind.) That's serious FOMO territory here. That is the kind of increase that you won't see with a typical merit pay increase (mine is already cancelled out by the US inflation rate). Is there any rational reason why you wouldn't make a jump? Screw it. Don't care anymore. Let Israel take it. One state solution.
I got a big pay bump from going from NCG salary to -> second job salary, $150k -> $250k felt big enough for me. Now I find out I could be tipping into $350k if I jumped again. It I’ve only been here 6 months
takes me too long to brush up LC
I like the product I'm working on, decent wlb, more money isn't worth it
What's your TC like?
Same. I heh at all of these TC maximalists building entertainment platforms that everyone hates.
Not enough time to practice all these things because just had a baby
This is so real. I can't even think straight with the constant fussing and WFH interruptions.

Nearly every tech IPO this year has done badly.
Is next door stock dip a good buy here? Lol
@S&P Revenue multiples are insane. Also the market is not kind to spacs. Wait for another 50% drop.

Looking at the poll results, I think it's encouraging that a nontrivial proportion of you managed to get a good bump. I salute your internal negotiation skills. The fact that about half of respondents plan to jump should make employers nervous. Will they proactively work at retention or do things the hard way?
As much as people shit on Goldman. I like what I do, the people I work with, and the product/team I work on at Marcus… I’ve received interest from other companies and FAANGs with higher TC, but I’m just not dying for a switch right now. Yoe: 1.5 TC: $135
Is this remote? HCOL?
NYC, remote 50/50, but you can def live quite frugally here if you want. I’m young so it’s not that big of a deal for me
Not enough time to practice Leetcode and system design.
