Of all the major tech platforms out there, LinkedIn has the most consistently terrible UX. They seem to violate basic standards of usability all the time. For instance they were very late to include drag and drop upload.

What is up with their culture that leads to this? Do they hire bad designers or is it somewhere else on the chain?

I hope to someday be able to share a LinkedIn post in the way I'm intending on the first try.

  • 90 percent of usage happens in mobile. If it takes a little longer to add features on web sorry about that but we have to prioritize for the majority of users

There are many inexperienced UX designers at Linkedin. Now, they rest and vest while keeping out the new more experienced talents.
