Interviewed with a lot of companies recently, but the one with Microsoft makes me unhappy most. The interviewer gave some very easy questions and I of course answered it with the optimal solution, then he asked have you seen this before? Honestly, do I need to see it before to get the optimal solution? And then he gave me another one which is also easy... I didn’t see the exact same question before but it’s very common problem so that I of course gave him the best answer, this time, I tried to be creative and use an iterative solution and create some data structure, and he cannot understand my solution until I run a test case for him, but he also seemed unhappy. Is it so difficult to admit that the interviewee is actually BETTER than you? At least in algorithms. Please give compliments to those smart people, it’s not a big deal and will make them feel better about your company.

I recommend to take one extra banana today, you will be fine
Lol, didn’t do the interview today but I was trying to summarize the experience interviewing with different companies and it’s just a little thought from memory.
“Is it so difficult to admit that the interviewee is actually BETTER than you? “ I would say Microsoft dodged a bullet
So sorry the interviewer made you feel that way. Was it the first round of the interview or the last? He could be giving you easy question to round up the interview because you fall in the no hire zone already.
First
Microsoft employees are generally more arrogant than average, because they make such amazing products.
I’m not saying Microsoft engineers are bad, at least my interviewer is no very good, otherwise he might be my interviewer in Google.
Lol tell me what’s 1+1 ?
By the way - feedback well taken , you should report this to the recruiter and get the recruiter to send a feedback link - nobody wants to give a bad experience to interviewees / this is immature interviewer who needs training
Thanks for your suggestion! Definitely will do that. It gives me the impression that if I can solve problems quickly, then I might be cheating, I don’t think the logic should go like that.
Going to the topic of interviewer being less intelligent - yes that’s obviously possible - what you can do is when you detect that , come to the person’s level - so once you see you are getting simple questions - act as though it’s an exciting problem and collaborate to build the solution
You are very kind and give really practical suggestions!
Thank you and I wish you the best , don’t get disturbed by a bad interviewer - be happy you didn’t have to join that team :) you were interviewing the team as much as the team interviewing you .
tbh you sound like the arrogant one, sit down and be humble.
I’m just a little bit upset, I did messed up with some interviews but I think getting positive feedbacks when you are doing well is important during an interview, and I think FAANG interviewers do that very well, I enjoyed those interviews
It's actually feedback, not feedbacks
