Why is uber so bad despite first mover advantage?

With all the money they have how come they cant build an app with a decent ux on par with lyft or doordash ? Provide less catastrophic customer support? More competitive pricing ? Just tried grocery delivery via “cornerstone” what the hell were they smoking when building this ? I want to try it

Blame the overpaid tech guys who built it!

DoorDash xEPC53 Mar 31, 2022

Ubers ux is as good as Lyft and a little better than Doordash imo

I am too tired to start proving you wrong point by point, but here is a simple way to put it: Doordash ux is so good that sometimes I open the app without knowing what I want to order and end up placing an order. And I keep coming back/doing this. I only painfully and dreadfully open the uber apps to spend my amex credits wanting to get out of them asap

We are paid like kings to build a negative margin business

Could you share compensation for 5a's in Uber? Folks who've been with the company for ~3 years? With the stock drop I want to see how much did Uber make up for it.

5a at U are especially overpaid compared to industry peers. Heard average is 500k after latest refresh cycle.

Definitely no huge 🍆 for you

But we weren't the first mover. Lyft was the first ride-sharing startup and Doordash has been delivering food way before Uber Eat started. We just outgrew everyone to a point people thought we are the OG.

The worst part of the doordash you I is the photos. There may be some really great restaurant that offers tens of excellent dishes but they put some shity burger as the main image and you think as you're scrolling at the restaurant only sells Burgers because that's what takes up 90% of the UI space

After placing something like an order a day on doordash I still can't believe they haven't figured out through some type of Elementary machine learning that I try to order healthy food and no I don't want to see prompts for burgers every time I open the app thank you very much. I think the click-through rate for burgers are for my profile is zero and yet the app is bound and determined to show me at least 10 pictures of every time I open it

You’d be amazed how primitive “ML” can be in those companies.

GrubHub g82r7 Apr 1, 2022

Uber UX is so much better than DoorDash, dunno what you're talking about. Now Grubhub on the other hand, that's a spicy meatball

GrubHub app has the UX of a side project
