Demand - supply is what is happening. Expect more layoffs as a side effect of coronavirus. Shutting down China, which plays major part in global supply chain, is going to hurt in the short term
world may suffer a bit but the fact is nothing has been stopped for anyone or any country, this is a lesson learned for the world for relying on one country for everything especially for the corporate like apple and amazon, In the long run there will be some solid alternate countries will act as a similar distributor and manufacturers.
I’m just upset banks are offloading their stock to whoever is buying. Stop justifying the sky high valuation of all these companies!! You think Goldman or Morgan is holding on the Tesla shares they underwritten. All this crap gets bundled into index funds and sold right back to the consumers. Right now, everyone is buying US equity since the market is on fire. Chinese, French, Japanese everyone. The crap will screw us over big time. I’m starting to slowly off load a good chunk of my investment out of equity while the market is still hot hot.
Economy is about to crash soon. Jump over to healthcare that’s the safest job if Democrats win
Doubt Democrats will win so you’re safe where you’re at.
It’s an election trump win is not certain
Not understanding why people think layoffs should be or are rare. Businesses change and grow and so layoffs happen to change with the business.
Except when it happens to over valued startups that gone/about to go ipo and can’t turn profit to justify their valuation. Uber lyft wework
And you only hear about those since they are big. Many many series c b d tech companies are going belly up.
We’ve had crazy job growth. Layoffs are a natural part of restructuring and becoming more efficient. Most companies doing the layoffs are still hiring,
Ooooo I haven’t seen podium on here
Please define how many is so many?
Winter is coming.
Pretty normal to be honest.
Because VPs are tightening up their pockets due to the unsuccessful tech IPOs last year (wework, uber, etc). Lots of unprofitable startups are struggling with getting funding
VCs, but yeah this.
Paranoia
How is it going at EA though? Any expected layoffs?
nah
