I get the feeling that the prize everyone is after is US citizenship. People sign up for graduate degrees at diploma Mill schools, do bad jobs at TCS or LeetCode like crazy to get a shot at Amazon? Why? What makes the USA so special? I am part of some Facebook groups where the entire undertone is to get ANY sort of visa.
Don't come then
Too late 🇺🇲BORN IN THE USA🇺🇲
Most of them only want permanent residency and have no desire for citizenship
France i hear has waaaay better work days
Yeah but in France they speak French
It's one of the best countries to be an immigrant. Unlike nation states with homogeneous citizens, the US has a more welcoming culture. If you are a citizen no one questions your American-ness. If you immigrate somwhere else they won't consider you and even your kids one of their own until 3rd generation.
^This. But didn't fool yourself. Someone will ask your kids "Where are you actually from" depending on the race
Any country paying more than what I make in the US for my skills and where COL is less than US, I'm out the next day. But haven't found one yet.
The USA is special because it's pretty unique, even among other democracies. Our Constitution limits the government rather then the people. Many people world-wide don't have the freedom,(economically or otherwise) potential for prosperity or liberty like folks in the US. There are less constraints on US citizens that, therefore allow us the opportunity to reach our potential. So it makes sense that so many would want to come here to try and achieve that potential.
‘MERICA!
Land of the free, Home for the brave
Leading question. And with MAGA on the rise, immigrants aren’t ready to put with the rise in discrimination and hatred.
Even with MAGA the US is the most diverse country in the world and most welcoming when it pertains to other cultures.
It reflects a lot over here. I see the love and acceptance for other cultures day after day in comments over here.

Ok fine but you could live equally well with less money in pretty much any Commonwealth country e.g. Canada or the UK
Here's the expanded answer: American culture is spread everywhere. And it states "land of opportunity", where anyone can come in and be rich. In comparison, other countries are "okay, I guess".
