New grad roles. Going into 4th year. Smaller companies/unicorns too like Flexport, Stripe, Reddit, Etc. I am a Canadian Amazon (Canada) intern from a bad canadian school with a bad GPA. All I have to show is an Amazon internship, a bank internship, and a full stack side project. I’m trying to know if it is worthwhile leetcoding, if I will get any interviews. Edit: Queen’s University to be specific
Yes you will. Be proactive and get referrals. Don’t rely just on career fair. Start your job search early. If you can get a return offer from Amazon that will be great. The problem with being a new grad is not all companies are keen to give them a chance. If FAANG doesn’t work out join a tier 2 or 3 companies or startups. Spend a year or two and then jump ship. You will have way more opportunities then
What is the point of this post? Are you not gonna try if someone says no here? Get off blind and LC till ur brain hurts
Lol yeah. My team doesn’t seem as toxic as blind makes Amazon out to be. Maybe because it’s Amazon Canada. I’d rather grind for a return offer and deal with a leetcode clutch if I don’t get one.
You can probably try Amazon or Microsoft. I know Facebook and Google only go for new grads from top schools. But after 3-4 years it changes. Netflix usually hires senior software engineers
People at my school get FB&G sometimes. But they all have great GPAs 😢
Fb & G are very selective especially with new grads. Did they have competitive programming background?
What school u go to? Also Canadian here
Queens
Ur good lol. Be happy ur in Canada so u don't have to deal with h1b visa. Don't get discouraged. Realistically speaking ur better off than most people with an internship at Amazon, at the same time, don't compare yourself, just keep grinding knowing that ur in a good spot.

My understanding of the Holocaust was incorrect!
Well you managed to get an internship at Amazon, why do you think you wouldn't have other opportunities? Ask for referrals, reach out to recruiters and never stop applying. There are people who are working at FAANG without any CS degree. So you can definitely do it my man!
Cause one it was in Canada, not the states. And two, Amazon is considerably easier to get into generally I believe. Yeah im sure its technically possible but Im tryna get a feel for if i generally meet the bar such that I can expect an interview and it isn’t down to luck
