Trying to move out from Atlanta in a year to Philadelphia. I’m making 85k/yr as a Web Developer here in Atlanta. What’s the job market like in philly or around philly for a full stack .NET React developer. Thanks!
Why did you pick Philadelphia? And how did you pick Philadelphia without thinking of NYC?
My wife’s family lives there and we have no ties here in Atlanta. I don’t want to live IN NYC that’s why I ruled it out and didn’t think about the other option.
They are same shit
Unfortunately the Phillies are a train wreck.

I'll say move an hour or so further north and get a job in NY. The pay difference will be worth it. The market is really good for React devs right now.
This opens up a lot of possibilities that I didn’t think of! Thanks a lot.
I’d say this makes much more sense if you’re looking for and are prepared to interview for top tier jobs. You can make really high tc in ny at FAANG, hyped up startups/fintechs, or quant firms. But if you’re not prepared to interview for these places and are looking for a normal job that may only pay around 100k, your 85k in Atlanta will go much further. Cost of living in ny and surrounding areas is super high.
