Now that all the content providers like Disney are planning to leave Netflix what will be left? With the upcoming fragmentation of streaming services, Netflix revenue will drop. Does Netflix has another way out or is it a one trick pony? How will Netflix sustain its industry leading TC? Will Netflix be the first FAANG to fall?
They are going to run circles around Disney like they did to HBO. Content is a commodity.
Really? If all their partner content pulls out, Netflix is left with a shell. Netflix has some original vids, but it ain't enough.
Disney's content outside of movies isn't really that good -- and I'm not sure it's appeal is as broad outside of the box office.
Ill never understand why Netflix was even included in the acronym to begin with. It never even had the same potential to grow relative to the other big companies. Disney Plus had been announced almost 4 years ago, so why would anyone think Netflix had a chance?
Lol.. FAANG is an acronym for high performing tech stocks. Netflix stock grew like crazy and has become one of the more reliable shares to own. FAANG conveys a sense of prestige to employees now, but don’t forget how that acronym was coined
See: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/f/fang-stocks-fb-amzn.asp Netflix was growing heavily back then. Note that, the actual term is FANG and Apple isn't part of it.
Netflix is the new HBO. They will be fine. Maybe not trading at such a high P/E, but they'll be around for a long time.

Have you been on Netflix lately? It's basically all originals.
And? Are they any good?
Honestly, whatever I don't find on Netflix, I torrent. That won't change one bit.
If society keeps disintegrating at its present rate I wouldn’t be surprised to see Facebook kicked in the nuts as people try to do something about it
Was Google a one trick pony? Was FB a one trick pony? TV entertainment is such a large industry that Netflix needs not to diversify because it's growing too fast. I am sure we'll have Netflix Land one day, when the growth slows down.

I think Netflix has been working very hard to prepare itself for this very situation by investing heavily in its own content. Original Netflix content like Stranger things, orange is the new black, the crown, narcos is the way Netflix is trying to build its own loyalty as a content owner. So I do think Netflix will suffer a bit but I think users will be hooked enough to Netflix content to moderate the impact
But if all the major content producers pull their content, do you think people will stay. I won't.
I use Netflix mostly for originals. I don't care much about abc shows.
