Will Oracle fire me as soon as I put in notice?
I’m going to Amazon. My vest is end of June. If I put in two weeks notice for the last day as my vest date, will they just fire me immediately?
In my last move I gave my notice in the same 1:1 meeting just after my manager was giving me my bonus and stock awards. No need to risk shit
Why would they fire you immediately? People come and go. Unless your manager is a dick and want to get challenged by the court, ain’t nobody got time to plot against you for the company.
No, they typically won’t. Never saw anyone terminated after giving a notice at Oracle (including when people announced they were joining AWS). But there is a risk. Don’t take it unless you don’t care.
OP you don't have to name a company. Just say you decided to leave for personal reasons.

I’m dumbfounded by the (lack of) OCI leadership. These guys just seem way out of their league. This last lay-off round, and the follow up all hands, was the last straw. The leadership has zero idea of direction or strategy IMO. As part of OCIC now OCI I’m wearing a target for lay off.

Tell the recruiter your Oracle manager has become very panaroid and absurd since he saw the Dynamo DB switch Twitter feed. She will move the dates.

Why risk losing the vest while you don't need to? I would ask Amazon move the start date to one week later and notify Oracle after vest.
I’m concerned that amazon doesn’t want to wait that long.
Talk with the recruiter. I'm going Microsoft to amazon and had Amazon set my start date in late July. They're pretty flexible with that
