Salesforce is great, but there's just one thing that just bothers me day and night about working there (aside from Ohana seating) and that's the goddamn name of this company. Since the company has much bigger ambitions beyond CRM and for cloud computing in general, why not drop the "sales" from their name? Nobody likes "sales". I feel like software engineers' first gut reaction when I say I work at "Salesforce" is like the face you make when you smell a fart. They own force.com, just call it force. Even Cloudforce is better.
The first company absolutely needs a name change is Cockroach Lab.
True, even their logo is green cockroach. Yuck 😷
“Where do you work?” “I am a Cockroach.”
Honestly, my girlfriend had to explain to me why I should apply to salesforce because I thought it was just a consulting company. I still don’t even know how much emphasis they put in engineering over there.
Not to mention that their interview was leetcode easy and medium which turned me off somehow
@NMJO05, oh thank god. Glad to hear that we still hiring people for their talent rather than ability to leetcode.
Don't get me started on this.. there are so many companies with trash names like TheRealReal. 8x8, etc. Really, wtf? Sounds like a hippie company lol
Nothing worse than having the word "sales" in your company's name.
