Will my WLB get better if I quit FB for another company
I have been at FB for the past 5 years. I am always stressed about work, peer pressure and PSC (performance evaluation) rating. Most of the engineers are super talented and work really long hours which raises the bar. The culture focuses on relentless coding and shipping, there’s no cool down period. This has kept me busy and stressed. I now think I have had enough of this shit and want a change. Want to know how it is at other tier 1 companies like Google, LinkedIn, Airbnb, etc. Do they have better WLB and less stressful environment? Or I will just end up landing in another shit hole if I switch?

Yes. I think it’s not-so-secret that WLB at FB ends up being pretty poor. I left FB earlier this year for Airbnb and I gotta say the pace and environment is way more relaxed ... other issues obvs and lots of things I miss about FB but wlb is not one of them.
What are you relentlessly coding and shipping? Facebook.com sucks and constantly broken and I didn't see anything new and exciting there in ages. Your mobile client is the worst piece of shit, even farting apps are better. What's else?
Those are the results of burnt out engineers. There’s always pressure to move fast and so people write hacks to save time. There are always a lot of things to do, writing well designed code is rarely prioritized
Stop moving fast and breaking Facebook. No one needs what you're doing. Facebook.com now is not different from what it was a year ago.

Man I work in Infra, so don’t deal with that shit. BTW, we DON’T SELL DATA. That’s a bullshit media propaganda. We keep data within our company which is used for ranking, modeling etc.
Btw, these aren’t the kind of questions you should ask someone who himself is tired of FB.
Many places here where you can coast at 20 hours per week after establishing yourself. The downside is these places are not good for career growth.
