To add doing hard work makes me pretty happy which really shows in other departments like handling family affairs, playing sports etc etc

It sounds like you have figured out life then. If you want G work, go do it! Lateral and even downward moves are perfectly sensible if you have met your goals and are happy with life.

Just make sure G provides what you want. A move makes sense for you.

  • Your tc doesn’t determine whether google will accept you or not. If you can’t do the simple “what I am making” and “which company I want to work for” .. then it’s futile to waste other members time. If money is only your concern then meta pays better than google. Try for that.

Thats not true at all. I know people making 600-700K by just working 3-4 hrs. I strongly believe that you cannot be productive after working 4-5 focused hours a day. Also it depends what kind of work you are doing , say just some REST CRUD APIs vs core distributed system (just an example). In first case you will keep burning time but in the later you will be a sought after candiate and companies will pursue you. It all depends on the quality of work and not the quantity.
