I accepted my job offer at amazon. During the interview I wore jeans, blazer, and heels. What should I wear as a L6 PM working with Finance and Accounting. Are jeans and t shirts really ok? Or should I just put blazers over my t shirts for a more casual look. I definitely want to move up and be taken seriously. I currently wear a suit everyday to the office so this is a new culture for me. Thoughts?
Seriously, you can wear what you want.
May I know the TC for L6 PM ?

Congrats 👏
Dark jeans and a top is fine, I wouldn’t wear a t shirt though.
Anything in which you can eat bananas comfortably.
What's the thing with amazon and bananas?
We get them free. That's all we get free, actually.
It’s Seattle. You can even dress like a homeless person, as long as you don’t smell bad. Check out Nordstrom from some premium beggar style jeans, etc
Yeah nobody cares how anybody dresses here
Do you remember what interviewers were wearing during your on-site? That's a good place to start. If your start date is not in the next few days, you can set up a lunch with your future team and see how they show up.
All the people saying no one cares how you dress — is that in Finance and Accounting as well? Because that’s a major “traditional” field as compared with software. Maybe some high-level directors are old-fashioned and do look at the way you dress. They are the ones deciding your promotion. I’d err on the side of caution until you have evidence to the contrary.
The only people at MSFT who dress differently are those in Sales.
I’d imagine it’s similar for Amazon. But again, this is female dress we’re talking about — people have a lot of hidden or subconscious biases with regards to this sort of thing. 🤷♂️
Jeans with boots, heeled sandals or trendy lowtop white sneakers, and a nice shirt. Don't wear t-shirts.
Whatever you want. Save the suit for Halloween.
