Lol, wework is..... not going well. Look at the $700m the CEO unloaded, or the scandals he was involved with. The overpriced stock, the competition’s stock, etc. I really wouldn’t trust the company to be doing well a year or 5 years from now
All I know is they police what their employees eat when they are out on business travel. That’s a sign of a bad culture to me.
I heard culture is ‘toxic’
I was there for onsite. Relatively up scale tech team, it felt like they are inventing their own projects. I did not feel there is clear direction. Overall it feel laidback, the people were friendly
Interviewed there recently — 3/5 of my interviewers were no shows. Then got an offer for Principal Engineer when I had interviewed for a Director role. Recruiter said “oh, well X got your schedule mixed up. Can you come in again?” NOPE. Oh and they took me to this meat place for lunch (didn’t know they were no meat) to see if I would order meat. I ordered a turkey BLT and then was asked if I wanted anything else...then was told I can’t order meat after I said I don’t get it. So then we go down the street and I ate fucking pancakes for my lunch interview.
Tech dept in NYC has an excellent WLB. Working 10-5 is no problem. At lower levels your expected output is minimal. It's a good chill place to keep your head low and learn, hone your skills, etc.
it's a shitshow and their engineers can barely code. i interviewed there and also have a good friend there. i had only 1.5 years of experience when i interviewed and it was clear i was above the levels of the interviewers.
The NYC office is garbage tech “pros”. They built a system on Ruby on Rails that desperately needs to be migrated over to proper services.
Good troll post
