Can anyone put some shedlight regarding the stabilty and work culture of Samsung Pay team based out of Mountain View. I have received offer for PM role in Samsung Pay. I heard layoffs in Austin for GPU group but wanted to understand if this is function/ group specific or widespread across Samsung US in coming years/ months.
Thanks for the info. That was helpful. All these PMs, devs and QA who moved out, moved out outside Samsung Pay OR Samsung Org or got laid off?
To my knowledge no one was let go except of course for performance related issues. They all quit on their own, may be they foresaw something coming or they all panicked. One thing is for sure, Samsung thrives on rumors and gossips, every day you will hear something new.

How many of you still feel it’s important to work onsite instead of hybrid or remote?
A few PMs moved out of Samsung Pay from Director of PM to senior PMs. However, they have got someone new there. He looks promising; it’s not about the culture that you have to worry about. It’s the target. HQ is pushing US folks really hard and they have set a target of 10million dollars and they are all wondering how to achieve that. Half the devs and QA left because of gloomy future. Lots of potential if you have the guts to stick around and work through the differences with the HQ team and bring in fresh ideas to the table. If you have other options better to evaluate.
