Hi I am a BS degree graduate from India. I wanted to ask whether big companies hire people who have only BS degree and no MS degree or should I go for MS if I want to work in companies like Google(Mountain view), Facebook (California) etc
No one cares if you even have a BS as long as you can ice interviews
Yummy 😋😍- i like to really ice the interviews to ace em
You need to have working permit and the easiest way to get it OPT-Stem followed by H1b - GC
GC for Indians will need at least 30 years
Shit... How can I check it for other nations?
Was hired into Apple and Google with no degree at all..
I completely understand your dilemma. If I were you I would first try to get into these companies in India within a year of completing BS. If you are not from top University, it will be extremely difficult. Even after trying for one year, if I fail to get into these companies in India, I will go for Masters in US. MS in US will give you three years OPT and then if you get H1B you may stay for 6 years in US(mostly). Meanwhile when you are on h1b of you get i140 approved you are eligible for uncapped infinite h1b extensions. You don't need GC you need i140. Do not think a lot about GC. All the best!
@bigg head, why is it too much harder to get into Google, Facebook in INDIA? Does that mean google interview is harder in india compare to other countries (usa,uk)? By the way ,loved the "bigg head" name and also loved the silicone valley!!
The population of India is huge. All big companies filter resumes based on your undergraduate University. It is extremely difficult to get a interview call for a no name University student. I have myself seen instances where students come to US for MS and they start working here at big tech companies after completing their MS, even if there University was not tier 1. So yes it is difficult to get into Google India than Google US if you are not from tier 1 University.
In india , competition is extreme. Makes everything more difficult to get into. In US , getting a work visa sponsor equates the competition part.
Are you asking about getting noticed by recruiters or about getting a visa with a big company?
Getting noticed by recruiters primarily
Then the best way is referrals. Getting employees to refer you is much more effective than whatever degree you have.
